Legoland California, a LEGO based theme park in Carlsbad, California, is a beautifully themed and designed park, especially for families with young children.  With 30+ rides and attractions, several shows, plus lots of food vendors, there’s something for everyone at this park.  See below for the full list!

As mentioned above, Legoland California has over 30 rides and attractions, plus shows, shops and dining in their main park – there are technically 3 ticketed parks in one location at Legoland California including the main theme park, the water park and Sea Life Aquarium. Let’s take a look at each of the rides, I’ll go counter clockwise from the main entrance.

Rides

Coast Cruise – There are plenty of sights to see including the Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, Mt. Rushmore and a lakeside view of Miniland USA.

• Riders under 48″ must be accompanied by a responsible rider at least 14 years old and 48″ or taller. 

Lego Ninjago The Ride – Fireballs! Lightning! Shockwaves! Ice! You control these elements to defeat the Great Devourer and earn ninja status. This is what you’ve been training for!

• No minimum height requirement.
• Rider under 48″ must be accompanied by a responsible rider at least 14 years old and 48″ or taller.

Bionicle Blaster – The more you spin the wheel, the faster it goes. The faster it goes, the dizzier you get. The dizzier you get, the more fun it is.

• Rider must be at least 42″ and 4 years old.
• Rider between 42″ – 48″ must be accompanied by a responsible rider of 14 years old and 48″ or taller.
• To ride alone, rider must be at least 48″ and 6 years old.

Lego Technic Coaster – LEGO® TECHNIC comes to life on this twisting, turning, dropping roller coaster. It’s a lesson in the forces of gravity and acceleration!

• Rider must be at least 42″ and 4 years old.
• Rider between 42″ – 48″ must be accompanied by a responsible rider at least 14 years old and 48″ or taller.
• To ride alone, rider must be at least 48″ and 6 years old.

Cargo Ace – It’s a flying adventure for young pilots as they bank their planes and soar through the air!

• Rider must be able to stand in order to ride.
• Riders under 36″ must be accompanied by a responsible rider at least 14 years old and 36″ tall.

Beetle Bounce – Everyone knows it’s fun to bounce. Launch 15 feet up toward LEGO scarab beetles, drop down and bounce up again. And again!

• Riders must be a minimum of 36″ and a maximum of 55″ to ride.

Dune Raiders – Let’s race! Six side-by-side lanes mean six times the fun!

• Rider must be at least 36″ inches.
• Opens at 12pm on days the Park is open.

Lost Kingdom Adventure – Armed with laser blasters, you’ll battle mummies, skeletons, snakes and more for the treasure of the Lost Kingdom!

• Rider must be at least 30″.
• Rider between 30″ – 48″ must be accompanied by a responsible rider at least 14 years old and 48″ or taller.

Royal Joust – Even the youngest of knights can ride a LEGO horse through this fun-filled forest.

• Rider must be 4 – 12 years of age.
• Rider must be at least 36”.
• Weight limit for this attraction is 169lbs.

The Dragon – Enter the enchanted LEGOLAND Castle and then come out soaring on this legendary indoor/outdoor coaster.

• Rider must be at least 40”.
• Rider between 40” – 48” must be accompanied by a responsible rider of 48” or taller and 14 years old.

LEGO® CITY: Deep Sea Adventure – Come aboard a REAL submarine and submerge underwater with real sea creatures as you dive for treasure on an interactive treasure hunt.

• Riders under 52″ may only ride with a supervising companion at least 14 years old and 52″ tall.

Splash Battle – Experience Splash Battle with its ship-themed vehicles that put you behind your own water cannon as you navigate through pirate-infested waters. Aim your cannon and take your best watery shot at spectators and other riders.

• Rider must be at least 36”.
• Rider between 36” – 44” must be accompanied by a responsible rider of 44” or taller and 14 years old.

Captain Cranky’s Challenge – Ahoy maties! Captain Cranky dares you to test your sea worthiness as you sway back and forth on a pirate ship that sits on a “U-shaped” track and rotates in two directions.

• Rider must be at least 34”.
• Rider between 34” – 42” must be accompanied by a responsible rider at least 14 years old and 42” or taller.

Skipper School – Captain your own boat like you’re on the high seas. There aren’t any tracks so you can even pass your family and friends!

• Rider must be at least 34”.
• Rider between 34” – 48” must be accompanied by a responsible rider of 48” or taller and 14 years old.

Fun Town Police And Fire Academy – It’s rescue time! Put out the fires and save the day.

• Rider must be at least 34”.
• Rider between 34” – 48” must be accompanied by a responsible rider of 48” or taller and 18 years old.

Driving School / Jr Driving School – Red means stop. Green means go. That’s pretty much all you need to know as you drive your own car through the city streets. There aren’t any tracks, so you’re in total control as you earn your own LEGOLAND Driver’s license!

• Rider must be 6 – 13 years of age.
• Jr. driving School – Rider must be 3 – 5 years of age.

Sky Patrol – Go for a spin in your own helicopter. Left or right, up or down, you’re the one in control!

• Rider must be at least 34”.
• Rider between 34” – 48” must be accompanied by a responsible rider at least 14 years old.

LEGOLAND Express – All aboard this mini-locomotive for a fun-filled ride on the edge of Fun Town!

• No minimum height requirement.
• Rider under 36” must be accompanied by a responsible rider of 36” or taller.

Kid Power Tower – Climb to the sky for an amazing view of the Park. Let yourself fall back to the bottom and then do it all over again!

• Rider must be at least 40”.
• Rider between 40” – 48” must be accompanied by a responsible rider at least 14 years old and 48” or taller.

Queen Watevra’s Carousel – Spin along with the Queen – and 60 of her horses – on this huge carousel that’s perfect for our younger guests.

Unikitty’s Disco Drop! – This all-new drop tower ride will take you through a rainbow-filled journey based on Unikitty and her many moods. Swoop to the tiptop of Cloud Cuckoo Land, then drop, spin and bounce back down to earth in sync with Unikitty’s wide range of emotions!

• Rider must be at least 40” to ride. Rider under 48” must be accompanied by a responsible rider at least 14 years old and 48” or taller.

Emmet’s Flying Adventure Ride – The BIGGEST attraction in THE LEGO® MOVIE™ WORLD! Join Master Builders on a Triple Decker Flying Couch, as cutting edge technology transports you all over The LEGO® Movie™ universe. Surrounded by a full-dome virtual screen, you’ll feel like you’re flying through a world created completely from LEGO® bricks!

• Rider must be at least 40” to ride. Rider under 48” must be accompanied by a responsible rider at least 14 years old and 48” or taller.

Fairy Tale Brook – Sail through all of your favorite fairy tales as they come to life as LEGO brick characters.

• Rider under 48” must be accompanied by a responsible rider at least 14 years old and 48” or taller.

Safari Trek – A safari ride in a Jeep brings you up close with the wildest LEGO animals!

• Rider must be at least 34”.
• Rider between 34” – 48” must be accompanied by a responsible rider of 48” or taller and 18 years old.

As of fall 2023, both Fairy Tale Brook and Safari Trek have been retired. Now the only way to ride these fan favorite rides is virtually through my videos above!

Coastersaurus – So much fun, you get to go twice around through a prehistoric jungle of LEGO brick dinosaurs. Circle around the 1,100-pound Brachiosaurus and whiz by our ten-foot tall Parasaurolophus scavenging for food.

• Rider must be at least 36” tall.
• Rider between 36” – 48” must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years of age.

Recently announced, a new Dino Valley land is in the works to replace the retired rides. Explorer River Quest and Duplo Little Dino Trail will be the rides available in the new land.

Activities

Now that we’ve made a circle around the park of the rides, we’re back to the beginning of the park. Along with all the rides, there are several attractions available that allow guests to take a break and play. The attractions include:

Coast Guard Build-A-Boat – Build and race your own LEGO® watercraft!

• No minimum height requirement.

MINILAND USA – Where else can you see San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York City, and Washington D.C. all in one day? MINILAND USA contains millions of LEGO® bricks and amazing scenes from coast to coast!

• No minimum height requirement.

LEGO® Ferrari Build & Race – The new LEGO Ferrari Build and Race has arrived at LEGOLAND® California Resort. Featuring a life-size LEGO Ferrari F40, Build and Race puts you in the driver’s seat as you make your way through the “garage” to the “racetrack” using your creativity and imagination to build, test and race your own LEGO Ferrari.

Build and Race features three zones. A LEGO pit crewmember will greet you as you enter the attraction, sharing Ferrari fun facts, race history, and showcasing themed LEGO race gear and awards. Once inside the garage, you’ll have the opportunity to take a photo with a life-size LEGO Ferrari F40 model!

Then the journey continues as you build your own LEGO Ferrari car to race at one of three racetracks. Each track offers different obstacles, challenges and a chance to clock in the fastest time. A DUPLO® build zone offers younger guests the chance to drive their imagination and design their own creation out of bigger bricks as well!

Finally, once you have customized your vehicle, raced them through the obstacles and heard the engines roar, you’ll be able to create a custom digital Ferrari race car. You’ll be able to digitally scan your vehicle and further customize your Ferrari along with your minifigure racing driver. Once complete, the cars are digitally projected on a LEGO racetrack based on Pista di Fiorano and you can compete with other cars digitally for the fastest race lap!

LEGO® MINDSTORMS® – Ever wanted to build a robot that obeys your commands? LEGO MINDSTORMS is exactly where that happens. Area may be unavailable during school group sessions.

• No minimum height requirement.
• Guest must be 9 years of age or older.

LEGO® CITY Space – You’ve finally made it to the LEGO® Moon Base after having traveled over 230,000 miles. Now that you are here, we need your help building rockets and rovers which could be used to conduct scientific research for NASA’s Artemis mission. Are you up for the challenge?

• No minimum height requirement.

LEGO® DOTS Build Your Art Gallery – Ready to #DotYourWorld? For the first time ever, experience the creative possibilities of LEGO® DOTS at LEGOLAND® California Resort! Use bold and colorful LEGO® DOTS tiles to create your masterpiece and add your unique design to the gallery wall where your creativity will be put on display.

Cole’s Rock Climb – Rock climbing teaches balance, endurance, and patience. Do you have those qualities?

• No minimum height requirement.

Jay’s Lightning Drill – Your reflexes are tested here. Find out if they are “lightning” fast!

• No minimum height requirement.

Kai’s Spinners – If you’re going to master Spinjitzu, you have to be able to spin!

• No minimum height requirement.

LEGO® NINJAGO® Training Camp – LEGO® NINJAGO® Training Camp is the ultimate ninja training test featuring interactive play areas filled with slides, obstacles and even Master Wu’s sailing ship! The play area is ADA compliant, ADA inclusive, and offers wheelchair access to elevated platforms, plus sound and interactive elements to support sensory play at appropriate heights. Learn the ways of the ninja at the all-new LEGO® NINJAGO Training Camp featuring play areas for little and big ninja to climb up high to spot evil invaders, spin down our epic slides to battle imaginary dragons, and go on endless adventures in a giant play ship. Parents can join in the fun or embrace the Zen on the shaded benches within this fully fenced play area.

Pharaoh’s Revenge – Whoosh! Thousands of soft foam balls are fired at targets and friends. Don’t forget to duck! Opens at 12:00pm on days the Park is open.

• Guests younger than 5 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
• Opens at 12pm on days the Park is open.

Hideaways – Kids can climb up, crawl through, slide down, cross over and swing around on ropes, ladders and tunnels.

Adventurer’s Club – Take a LEGO journey through the Amazon rain forest, ancient Egypt and the icy-cold Arctic.

• No minimum height requirement.

LEGO® Factory Tour – If you’ve ever wondered how a LEGO brick is made, this tour will show you from start to finish. At the end of your tour, remember your day by having a special item engraved!

• No minimum height requirement.

LEGO® Hero Factory – Check out LEGO® Hero Factory where real heroes are built! In this next generation LEGO story, heroes are designed, equipped and built depending on specific missions that beam in from across the galaxy and across time.

Rebuild The World – Visit a world with no rules just pure creativity… introducing: PLANET LEGOLAND®, a land where anything can happen. Let your imagination run wild. Build, unbuild, rebuild and leave your mark on our world!

This new immersive build experience encourages children and their parents to unleash their imaginations by building, unbuilding and rebuilding the world of their dreams with, of course, LEGO® bricks.

Anything is possible … a rollercoaster made of rainbows? A hotdog helicopter? A ninja ballet dancer? What will you build?
Benny’s Playship – Benny’s spaceship has landed right in the middle of Bricksburg! Play on this space-themed playground structure and get ready for takeoff!

Build Watevra You Wa’na Build – Create ‘whatever you want to’ out of LEGO® bricks in this building zone, perfect for guests aspiring to be Master Model Builders!

Emmet’s Super Suite – Stop by Emmet’s apartment and meet some of your favorite characters from The LEGO® Movie™.
The LEGO® Movie™ 2 Experience – Go behind-the-scenes of an actual live movie set at THE LEGO® MOVIE™ 2 Experience, now open at LEGOLAND® California Resort! Here’s your chance to experience movie making magic as you step onto our LEGO soundstage and explore the awesome LEGO Models as seen in THE LEGO MOVIE 2: The Second Part.
You’ll see Emmet, Lucy, and their LEGO co-stars as well as their hometown of Apocalypsburg. You’ll be amazed by the details that go into making this blockbuster movie!

Dig Those Dinos – If you want to be a paleontologist, start digging! There is plenty of sand to be moved and fossils to be found.

Shows

Beyond the rides and attractions, there’s several shows throughout the day to allow you to take a break and relax for a little bit while the little ones keep entertained. Showtimes can vary, so be sure to check out the times in the app. The current shows include:

Lego World Parade – New for the summer of 2024, Legoland California is adding its first ever parade! stay tuned to this page as we will post new information as it’s available.

School of Spinjitsu – Are you ready to kick, chop, spin and balance like a ninja? Then bring your best moves to this active training style show where you can become the ninja!

LEGO® CITY 4D – Officer in Pursuit – Join our local LEGO City Police Officers in a crazy 4D caper across town as they chase down the mischievous crook through the streets and skyscrapers of the metropolis. With you as their trusted backup, will they be able to put the crook behind bars? Become part of the action in this chaotic pursuit full of water, wind and bubble effects as the pair get into all sorts of trouble. Strollers are not permitted and latecomers will not be admitted. Loud music, sound effects, lasers, smoke, water effects and strobe lighting effects are used. Show duration is approximately 12 minutes. 

LEGO® MYTHICA 4D Journey to Mythica – Experience the 4D movie and be immersed into the world of LEGO® MYTHICA, as you encounter enchanted forests, raging seas, hidden caves, fire and ice! You’ll meet Bobs, a courageous little Alicorn on an adventure into an undiscovered world, where LEGO® creatures become real. He needs your help to ensure that the this mythical world endures through the power of your imagination. Once you’ve watched the movie, see the creatures of LEGO® MYTHICA come to life before your very eyes as you take part in an AR (Augmented Reality) scavenger hunt in MINILAND U.S.A. to find them! 

LEGO® NINJAGO® Master of the 4th Dimension – Join your favorite NINJAGO heroes at a very special dojo training session exclusively here at LEGOLAND! Become part of the 4D action as Master Wu prepares the ninjas to take on the teachings of the mysterious ‘Scroll of the 4th Dimension’ but with disastrous consequences. Kai, Nya, Lloyd, Zane and Cole find themselves in a whole heap of trouble for not only them, but for the whole universe! LEGOLAND needs YOU to help harness the power of the elements in this amazing 4D experience that will leave you in a spin! There are no strollers allowed inside the LEGO Show Place Theater. No late entry will be permitted. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to showtime.

The LEGO Movie™ 4D A New Adventure – Exclusively at LEGOLAND, “The LEGO Movie™ 4D A New Adventure” follows a new journey for Emmet, Wyldstyle, Unikitty, Benny and MetalBeard after they receive a mysterious invitation leading them to a new theme park where all of the rides are based on the characters’ adventures in “The LEGO Movie.” There are no strollers allowed inside the LEGO Show Place Theater. No late entry will be permitted. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to showtime. 

Minifigure Trading – At LEGOLAND® California Resort, we love Minifigure Trading! Have you seen a Minifigure on a Model Citizen’s Brick Badge that you LOVED? Did you know that you may trade for it? Minifigure Trading is an AWESOME and unique aspect of the LEGOLAND Parks and it’s as easy as one, two, three!

Once Upon a Brick – Hear ye, hear ye, we ask all to come join Bagsy and Sweeps in Castle Hill as they open the magical storybook to bring your favorite LEGO character to life!

Pop Badge Collecting – LEGOLAND® pop badges can be found across the Resort at different rides, attractions, experiences, and retail shops!

In case you get hungry during the day, and who isn’t hangry after a few rides?, there are several snack stands and restaurants throughout the park. Again, I’ll list the restaurants from the park entrance and go counterclockwise. 

The Market – Enjoy our selection of gourmet coffee, cappuccino, caffe latte and espresso. Cold beverages including a selection of Coca-Cola products and bottled water are also available, along with salads and sandwiches to go and Welch’s® Fruit Snacks. Cool down with a refreshing fruit flavor or chocolate swirl soft-serve ice cream.  Refillable Coke cups are available here as well.

This list covers just about everything you can do while in the main Legoland park.  There’s even more to do beyond the main gates by heading to the Water Park or Sea Life Aquarium or even heading to the Legoland hotels for a good nights sleep.
