On our recent visit to Disneyland, we had the opportunity to check out Black Tap Craft Burgers and Shakes in the Downtown Disney district. This report shares some pictures in and around the area as well as my thoughts on the food.

Prior to our trip, I wasn’t sure if we’d visit downtown Disney the day we got in, so I decided not to book a reservation at any of the table service restaurants in the area. So when we did get checked into the hotel and decided to head over, I started looking for quick service options and Black Tap Craft Burgers seemed right for us.

The Black Tap Craft Burgers I located near the middle of the Downtown Disney district, right by the UVA Bar. When you’re ready to eat, you’ll head to the door closest to Ballast Point. We had a hostess greet us and held us at the door. We found out that was just to prevent line crowding inside.

Once inside, you’ll see a large burger menu and a large shake menu. We decided to only order burgers. Once you order, then you can grab your soft drinks and find a seat. They have employees deliver the food and shakes to the tables. The dining area is quite large, and includes the covered patio you can see in the picture above. Here’s a 360 view of the indoor dining room:

I’m not sure why, but I didn’t get any pictures of the food, but the shakes were enormous. They even add something large to the top of the glass. For example, a birthday cake sundae includes a giant slice of cake.

Here’s a link to their menu.

The burgers took a little while to make, I think we were waiting close to 20 minutes, but they ended up being really good. Of course, I was really hungry by then as well, lol. The toppings were really fresh and the burgers were nice and juicy. Definitely a tasty burger.

To me, the value of the food was definitely better than the cost. I would go here again just for the burger, but might talk my wife into getting a shake so I can have a big slice of cake. I’m not a big shake fan like the other 2 in my party, but I’m sure they could share one and give me the topper!

If you’re ready to start exploring a Walt Disney World or Disneyland family vacation, I recommend checking out Undercover Tourist for your ticket options. I’ve already used them twice, once at Disneyland and once at Disney World and will plan to continue comparing their prices with other sites, however I usually come back to UT because they have the best deals and their instructions make it easy to add your tickets to the Disney apps.
