On our group Land Adventure to New England, you’ll discover the local charm and unique culture of this celebrated region as you visit stops throughout Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

For today’s Adventure Moment, let’s start at the very beginning (in our first destination, that is!). A very good place to start …

Trapp Family Lodge

When traveling on the New England adventure, you’ll enjoy a stay at the Trapp Family Lodge. Yes, the very von Trapp family who inspired the classic musical “The Sound of Music” settled in New England in 1942.

During your time at the lodge, you’ll explore a little bit of Austria in the hills of Vermont as you hike across the beautiful landscapes and learn more about the famous family’s history.

In addition to being a mountain resort, the Trapp Family Lodge is also a working farm surrounded by beautiful sugar maple trees, and the sap from those trees is used to make maple syrup right on site! Well, this Adventures by Disney vacation wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the lodge’s sugar house to see where the centuries-old tradition of making pure Vermont maple syrup takes place. While we haven’t quite figured out how to let you sample the syrup virtually, we can give you a taste of the experience. Time for a behind-the-scenes look led by Director of Trip Development, Heather Killingbeck and Sam von Trapp, Director and Executive VP, Trapp Family Lodge.

This “Adventure Moment” is sure to be sweet!

See you next time, adventurers!

If you’re ready to start exploring a Walt Disney World or Disneyland family vacation, I recommend checking out Undercover Tourist for your ticket options. I’ve already used them twice, once at Disneyland and once at Disney World and will plan to continue comparing their prices with other sites, however I usually come back to UT because they have the best deals and their instructions make it easy to add your tickets to the Disney apps.
