The Disney Parks Blog has announced on Instagram the Magic Kingdom train has begun testing for its return after nearly 4 years of being offline!

The first time I ever went to Disney World was Mickey’s 90th birthday celebration in November 2018. We rode the train from the train station next to Splash Mountain over to the Storybook Circus area.

Just a couple weeks later, the train was shut down to prepare for the construction of the new Magic Kingdom Tron Rollercoaster. As construction areas came closer to completion, reports were popping up about train whistle sounds and possible sightings of a train moving.
That has now become a reality as Disney World has fired up the trains and the conductors begin leaving their tracks around the park.
At this time, there’s no word on when they’ll be back for guests to ride, but just having them running the tracks is big news after such a long hiatus.

If you’re ready to start exploring a Walt Disney World or Disneyland family vacation, I recommend checking out Undercover Tourist for your ticket options. I’ve already used them twice, once at Disneyland and once at Disney World and will plan to continue comparing their prices with other sites, however I usually come back to UT because they have the best deals and their instructions make it easy to add your tickets to the Disney apps.
