Live Video: Zoo Trip

Come Join me at around 1pm Central Time as I use my 360° camera to broadcast live from the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo.

I’m not entirely sure this will work, but would love to hear feedback from anyone able to view! If the above isn’t working, or doesn’t play the full 360 option, you can view from here https://youtu.be/HqwVelZYqrs

Thanks for any feedback you are able to provide!

Update: I was able to go Live from the zoo, so that’s a plus for the Insta360 one X2 as it was the first time going Live in a real situation.

However, all the good things that make the Insta360 one X2 what it is are not available in the Live environment. The biggest one being image stabilization. Typically while walking with the Insta360, the movement looks like you’re gliding along, however with Live you could feel every step, plus the video itself was quite choppy. Along with that, I was unable to change some video settings for the live video

Audio is another issue. The camera has 4 microphones that work really well. I took a few other videos without a hint of audio disruption. However, the Live video was constantly cutting out sounds making it nearly impossible to use.

A final complaint is that it took a very long time for the app to connect to the YouTube Livestream while at the park. It had to have taken at least 5 minutes or more for the connection to get started, even though at home when just testing, it only takes a minute or less. After I got the Livestream going, I turned off the phone and put it in my pocket to give myself free hands to get all my stuff together. A while later, I wanted to check the stream on the phone. The app opened up and appeared disconnected so I reconnected, which apparently killed the Livestream. I didn’t realize that until later.

Lessons learned, I will use my phone for the live video while simultaneously capturing 360 video to share later. Hopefully that will take care of mostly issues I experienced using Live settings.

Thanks for reading along! Looking forward to sharing more Live and 360° videos soon!
