According to the eclipse tracking websites, the next time a total Solar Eclipse hits North America will be in 2044, but will only cover a small part of the United States. However, the following year, on August 12, 2045, a Total Solar Eclipse will span the entire continent once again, this time sweeping across nearly the entire state of Florida and will include Walt Disney World in its path!
California will also be in the path, however, only Northern California will see totality, while Disneyland and Southern California will only see a partial eclipse.
Additionally, the 2045 totality impact, the point in which the sun is completely blocked by the moon, will last over 6 minutes, which is 2 minutes longer than this years eclipse and 4 minutes longer than the 2017 eclipse.
Here’s more information, as well as map views, from nationaleclipse.com:
On August 12, 2045, a total solar eclipse will occur in the U.S., the Caribbean, and South America. In the U.S., the path of totality will cross over California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. In the Caribbean, the path of totality will cross over The Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos (United Kingdom), Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Trinidad and Tobago. In South America, the path of totality will cross over Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana (France), and Brazil. The maximum duration of totality for this eclipse will be 6 minutes and 6 seconds. The maps below show the path of totality over the U.S., the Caribbean, and South America. To experience the total phase of the eclipse, you must be located within the path of totality represented on the maps below. Areas outside the path of totality will get a partial solar eclipse only.

In the U.S., a partial solar eclipse will also occur in Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

If you’re ready to start exploring a Walt Disney World or Disneyland family vacation, I recommend checking out Undercover Tourist for your ticket options. I’ve already used them twice, once at Disneyland and once at Disney World and will plan to continue comparing their prices with other sites, however I usually come back to UT because they have the best deals and their instructions make it easy to add your tickets to the Disney apps.
